2019 in a Nutshell

Since my lack of posts, a lot has gone on in the gaming world.

The rise and fall of Pokemon: Sword and Shield hype. #BringBackNationalDex, indeed.

The inclusion of Joker, the Dragon Quest Hero, and BANJO-KAZOOIE??? as Smash DLC.

The possibly most disappointing E3 in the history of E3s (bar Nintendo’s pretty acceptable performance.)

My plans for the next couple of months include sobbing about Animal Crossing: New Horizons being delayed until March, a lack of a Pikmin 4 announcement, and the quality of the tree models in Sword and Shield. However, I can’t help but look forward to the upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Luigi’s Mansion 3, as well as incoming updates for Stardew Valley, among many other titles.

And, uh, I finished Deltarune, but I might as well wait for the full game to come out to say anything beyond “I don’t hate Lancer anymore, and Ralsei is Wholesome.”

it's to put the blood in

So what have I been doing all this time?

Frankly, school. But I’ve gotten up to some game hijinks in my absence, do not fear. I purchased Slime Rancher, which fulfills my desire to see smiling squishy creatures being launched into the ocean. Stardew Valley has caught my attention once again (goodbye, social life) with my discovery of modding. I will never again be forced to walk at a lowly normal speed. If I want to blast my way across Pelican Town with speed the likes of which have never been recorded, nobody can stop me. Move over, Marnie, because the REAL FARMER is here.

Oh, I also got a bunch of other games that I’ll probably play for 2 or 3 hours and then lose interest in. But it’s entirely possible that they will keep me entertained for longer. I got garry’s mod, which I have come to know as ridiculousness incarnate. My partner got Left for Dead and Portal 2, so I’ll be jumping back into a lovely co-op experience. All in all, the Steam Summer Sale haul so far has been pretty blessed.

I sorta lost interest in Cattails. Woopsies. Stardew Valley just has more to love.

Anyhow, I’ll keep an eye on future titles, and I plan to have more to talk about this time around. However, due to an internship and a multitude of other life things, I may not write particularly often at all. But for whoever’s out there reading this, I hope you’re having a good time!
